Overview
Climate Control lets you set thermostat presets that switch automatically based on what's happening at the property — empty, about to be occupied, occupied, or just-vacated. No more guests arriving at a freezing condo, no more empty units running AC for nobody.
Climate presets
Define a temperature target for each state:
- Vacant — between bookings; energy-saving mode
- Pre-arrival — kicks in N hours before check-in to bring the unit to comfort
- Occupied — guest is in residence; comfort mode (or whatever they choose if you allow override)
- Custom — define your own preset for special cases (e.g., "deep clean," "owner staying")
Setting up
Open Settings → Connections → Smart Devices to connect your thermostat. Then assign it to a listing and configure the preset values per listing. Same brand of thermostat in two markets? They can have different settings.
Reservation-driven schedule
When a reservation is confirmed, ProhostAI schedules the climate transitions:
- N hours before check-in: switch to Pre-arrival
- At check-in: switch to Occupied
- At check-out: switch to Vacant
You can override on a specific reservation if a guest asks you to keep the heating on.
