Overview
Noise sensors monitor decibel levels at your property without recording audio (privacy-preserving). When the threshold is breached, ProhostAI alerts you and can optionally send the guest a polite message on your behalf.
How it works
- Sensor detects noise above your configured threshold
- Host alert — you get a mobile push on every breach, regardless of the time of day
- Guest auto-message — if a guest is on stay and the breach falls inside quiet hours, ProhostAI sends a polite message on your behalf. These are throttled (at most one per sensor per hour) so a noisy stretch doesn't flood the conversation
- Persistent breach — when the same reservation crosses the threshold again within a short window, you get a second, distinct alert so persistent noise stands out from a one-off spike
No audio is ever recorded — only decibel levels.
Setting up
Open Settings → Connections → Smart Devices and connect your noise sensor provider. Assign each device to a listing and configure:
- Threshold — decibel level that triggers
- Quiet hours — the window during which guests receive an auto-message, configurable independently of when the sensor is armed
- Auto-message — what gets sent to the guest on a breach during quiet hours
