Overview
ProhostAI integrates with smart locks (via Seam) so each guest gets a unique access code that's valid only for their stay. Codes auto-generate at confirmation, activate at check-in, and expire at check-out.
Connecting locks
Open Settings → Connections → Smart Devices and connect your lock provider. Once connected, ProhostAI imports your devices and you can assign each one to a listing.
Lock roles per listing
Each listing can have multiple locks, with a defined role:
- Primary — front door, the one the guest's code unlocks
- Secondary — internal doors (e.g., bedroom, office)
- Gate — exterior gate before the front door
Codes generated for a reservation are sent to all primary locks at the listing.
Code lifecycle
For every confirmed reservation:
- Generated — at booking confirmation
- Sent to guest — included in scheduled messages or shared on demand
- Activated — at check-in time
- Deactivated — at check-out time (or manually if the stay is cut short)
If a stay is cancelled, the code is revoked immediately.
Manual codes
You can also create temporary codes for cleaners, vendors, and one-off visits — with a custom validity window.
