Overview
ProhostAI gives your account a dedicated phone number with an AI receptionist that can answer inbound calls, talk to the caller, and hand off to a human when needed. You can also place outbound calls, and every call is transcribed and summarized so you never have to remember what was said.
The AI receptionist
When a call comes in, the AI receptionist can pick up, hold a real conversation with the caller, and transfer to a person when it makes sense. You choose when it answers — only as a backup, after hours, for unknown callers, or for every call — see Voice Settings.
- Answers and converses — the AI greets the caller and handles the call in natural conversation
- Transfers to a human — when the AI decides a person should take over, it dials your handoff number and bridges the caller in
- Real-time AI voice — the receptionist runs on a real-time AI voice engine so the conversation feels natural
Inbound and outbound
- Inbound — guests call your ProhostAI number; the receptionist or your team picks up
- Outbound — call guests or vendors directly from a reservation or task
Recording, transcription, and summaries
Calls are recorded and transcribed when recording is enabled. After a call ends, ProhostAI produces a structured summary:
- Summary — a short recap of the conversation
- Bullets — the key points, facts, and guest asks
- Next steps — concrete follow-ups for the host
The summary is attached to the related conversation so the next person who picks up the thread has full context.
Mobile calling
On the iOS and Android apps, an incoming call arrives as a native VoIP push and surfaces an in-call screen where you can mute, hold, or hang up. Outbound dialing is one tap from a reservation or task.
