Overview
ProhostAI integrates with Ring so your outdoor cameras and video doorbells feed into one place. The focus is on entry and exterior awareness — knowing when someone arrives, rings the bell, or moves near an entrance — not on watching guests. There is no interior surveillance and no audio monitoring.
Connecting Ring
Open Settings → Connections → Smart Devices and connect Ring. Once connected, ProhostAI imports your devices and you assign each one to a listing.
Two device types are supported:
- Doorbells — video doorbells at the entrance
- Cameras — exterior cameras (entryways, driveways, common outdoor areas)
When assigning a camera, ProhostAI keeps it pointed at exterior and common spaces. Interior cameras in private guest areas are not part of how the integration is meant to be used, in line with Ring's terms and short-term-rental rules.
The media-event timeline
Each device builds a per-device timeline of media events — motion detected, doorbell pressed, and snapshots — ordered by when they happened. That gives you a quick record of arrivals and entrance activity for a property without having to live-monitor a feed.
Snapshots are cached so the timeline stays viewable later, rather than expiring shortly after the event.
