Overview

Upsells let you make money beyond the nightly rate. ProhostAI surfaces the right upsell at the right moment — usually as part of the pre-arrival message — and handles guest approval and payment.

Upsell types

  • Early check-in — sell hours of head-start when the cleaning's done early
  • Late checkout — sell extra hours when there's no same-day arrival
  • Extra service — add-ons like grocery pre-stock, mid-stay cleaning, BBQ rental
  • Reservation extension — extend the stay by additional nights

Pricing models

  • Flat rate — single fee
  • Per-hour — for early/late checkout, charge per hour
  • Gap-night percent — extension priced as a percentage of the regular nightly rate

How a guest gets an offer

  1. Auto-detection — ProhostAI scans upcoming reservations and identifies upsell opportunities (next-day arrival is far enough out to allow late checkout, etc.)
  2. Offer generated — using your pricing rules
  3. Sent to guest — through your normal messaging channel
  4. Guest accepts — payment is collected, reservation is updated, your team is notified

Setting it up

Open Upsells in the side menu. Create an upsell, pick the type, set pricing, choose which listings it applies to. The auto-detection scheduler picks it up from there.
