Kwikset is the deadbolt half of America already knows how to install — which is exactly why so many rentals end up with one. The WiFi models in the Halo family add remote access through the Kwikset app, and that’s all the hardware a self-check-in setup needs. The missing piece isn’t on the door; it’s the nightly discipline of programming codes for a moving calendar.

ProhostAI supplies the discipline. Connect your Kwikset app account, assign each Halo to its listing, and every reservation from then on carries its own code windowed to the stay — active a little before check-in, gone after checkout. Where the lock allows it, the code is the last four digits of the guest’s phone number; when that’s taken or unavailable, a safe random code steps in.

Delivery and timing are part of the same loop. A template variable puts the code into scheduled messages and the guest guidebook, and the code itself is minted the moment a booking is confirmed — its window opens 12 hours before check-in by default and closes at checkout exactly. Changed dates move the window without changing the digits; cancellations remove the code.

How to connect Kwikset

Connecting Kwikset takes a few minutes in the browser:

2Pick Kwikset in the secure connection window and sign in with your Kwikset app account.
3Your Halo locks sync in with battery and connection status shown per device.
4Assign each lock to a listing and give it a guest-recognizable name (Front door, Side entrance).
5From the next booking on, codes are created, delivered and expired without you.

Good to know

The WiFi-connected models — the Halo family — connect through your Kwikset app account directly, with no hub to buy. Bluetooth-only models like the Kwikset Aura can’t receive codes remotely, so for rental doors the Halo line is the one to pick.

Codes you set yourself for cleaners or co-hosts are left alone; ProhostAI manages only the reservation codes it created.

Connected devices are a paid add-on billed per device — start with one lock and expand as it earns its keep.

Sign-in happens in a secure connection window; ProhostAI never sees or stores your Kwikset password.
