SmartThings integration
One Samsung account brings every lock in your setup along.
Your locks may already be one SmartThings sign-in away.
SmartThings isn’t a lock — it’s the smart-home setup many locks already live in. Connect your Samsung SmartThings account and the locks paired to it become manageable in ProhostAI, reservation by reservation.
Overview
SmartThings is the odd one out on this list: it isn’t a lock brand at all. It’s Samsung’s smart-home platform — and if your locks are already paired to it, that’s the good news. You don’t need to care which company made the lock on which door; if it’s managed in your SmartThings setup, one Samsung sign-in makes it manageable in ProhostAI.
That matters most for hosts whose hardware accumulated over the years — different brands on different doors, all long since paired to SmartThings. Connect your Samsung SmartThings account and those locks sync into ProhostAI as devices. Assign each one to a listing, and every reservation gets its own code: minted when the booking is confirmed, with a window that opens ahead of check-in (12 hours by default) and closes at checkout, built from the guest’s phone digits where the lock supports it.
One account also covers many doors. A multi-unit building where every door’s lock lives in the same SmartThings setup needs a single connection — each lock is assigned to its own listing, and codes, delivery and cleanup run per reservation across all of them.
Delivery works as with any connected lock: the code lands in scheduled messages and the guidebook via a template variable, and during the stay guests can lock or unlock their door straight from that guidebook if you enable it.
What ProhostAI can do with SmartThings
With your SmartThings account connected and its locks assigned to listings, this runs hands-off:
Guest access
- Per-stay codes on your paired locks — Every reservation gets its own time-bound code — minted at booking confirmation, closed at checkout — on whichever locks your SmartThings setup manages.
- Many locks, one account, per-listing assignment — Each lock in your SmartThings setup is assigned to its own listing, so one Samsung account can serve a whole building.
- Codes delivered automatically — A template variable drops the reservation’s code into scheduled messages and the digital guidebook.“Unit 3’s door code is 6118 — it activates at 4pm on your check-in day.”
Automation
- Ask the AI instead of the app — Your AI employee can report a stay’s door code or a lock’s status, or lock and unlock on request — audited and rate-limited, with codes withheld for cancelled or past bookings.
- Calendar reconciliation — Date changes move the code’s window — the digits the guest already has keep working — and cancellations remove the code. Nothing stale survives on any lock.
- Trouble is surfaced, then retried — Code-setting is tracked to confirmation. If a lock is unreachable, the attempt retries automatically once it’s back, and you’re alerted while it isn’t.
How to connect SmartThings
If your locks already live in your SmartThings setup, connecting takes a few minutes:
- 1In ProhostAI, open Smart Devices and choose Connect account.
- 2Pick SmartThings in the secure connection window and sign in with your Samsung SmartThings account.
- 3Locks paired to your SmartThings setup sync in as devices with battery and connection status.
- 4Assign each lock to its listing and name it per door (Unit 1 front, Unit 2 front).
- 5From the next reservation on, guest codes are created, delivered and removed automatically.
Good to know
SmartThings is the route into ProhostAI for locks managed through your Samsung account rather than a lock brand’s own app.
A lock needs to be paired to your SmartThings setup and visible in your SmartThings account before it can sync into ProhostAI.
ProhostAI manages the reservation codes it creates and leaves your other codes and SmartThings automations alone.
Connected devices are a paid add-on billed per device — per lock, that is, not per account.
