Overview

Ask hosts which keypad sits on their rental doors and Yale comes up early — the Assure line was designed around exactly this: a clean keypad on the outside, no key to hide under a mat. But the lock has no idea a Friday check-in exists. Someone still has to decide the code, program it, send it, and clear it out again on Sunday.

Hand that job to ProhostAI. Connect the account you already use in the Yale Access or Yale Home app, assign each lock to a listing, and from the next reservation on every booking carries its own code with a validity window built from the stay dates. Where the lock supports it, the code is the last four digits of the guest’s phone number — a number they already know — with a safe random fallback otherwise.

And the code exists early: it’s minted the moment the booking is confirmed, its window opens 12 hours before check-in by default, and it closes at checkout exactly.

Guests can work the door from the guidebook — If you enable it, guests can lock and unlock the door straight from their digital guidebook during the stay — no app to install, and every action is rate-limited.
Date changes carry the code with them — Extended stay, shifted dates, cancellation — the code’s window moves or the code is removed to match, so last month’s guests can’t open next month’s door.
Set-and-confirm, with failures surfaced — Code changes are driven through to confirmation from the lock. If a Yale lock is offline or its battery dies, the failure is tracked and raised instead of silently dropped.
A timeline per lock — Unlocks, code changes and failures collect in a per-device history, so questions like “when did the cleaner arrive?” have an answer.

How to connect Yale

Connecting Yale takes a few minutes, entirely in the browser:
