Overview

In a lot of city rentals the apartment door is the easy part. The guest also has to get through a street door, maybe an elevator lobby, sometimes a garage gate — and Akiles, a Barcelona-built cloud access system, was designed for exactly those doors: entrances, gates, garages and shared spaces, all managed from one account.

ProhostAI plugs your reservation calendar into that system. Connect your Akiles account, assign each access point to its listing, and every booking gets its own access with a validity window built from the stay: active shortly before check-in, removed after checkout. That applies to each device on the guest’s path, so the street door and the unit door stop being two separate chores.

The guest never has to ask how to get in. A template variable drops their entry details into your scheduled check-in messages and the digital guidebook — and for doors you enable, guests can even unlock from the guidebook itself during their stay, rate-limited and only while the booking is active.

If a booking moves or cancels, the access window moves or is removed with it. And every access point keeps its own timeline of openings, code changes and failures, which matters in a building where four doors share one story.

How to connect Akiles

Connecting Akiles takes a few minutes and happens entirely in the browser:

2Pick Akiles in the secure connection window and sign in with your Akiles account credentials.
3Your access points sync in automatically — doors, gates and garages each show up with their connection status.
4Assign each access point to its listing and name it the way a guest would (Street door, Garage, Apartment door).
5From the next reservation on, guest access is created, delivered and removed automatically.

Akiles covers more than door locks — gates, garages and shared entrances managed in the same account connect the same way, which suits apartment buildings and aparthotels.

ProhostAI only manages the guest access it creates. Permanent access for owners, cleaners and building staff set up in Akiles stays untouched.

Connected devices are a paid add-on billed per device — you can start with one door and add the rest of the building later.
